Being 6 feet tall, 140 pounds, a failed musician, and going bald before he could legally buy a drink means that Aidan Lyerly has a lot of inspiration to draw on for his image making. He grew up around North Metro Atlanta, and took an early liking to painting and drawing. He is currently working on his BA in Studio Art at the University of North Georgia. His expressionistic work highlights the confusion and surreal nature of growing up in the digital age through a welding of traditional mediums like oil, ink, and printmaking, partnered with photography and digital manipulation techniques. Regardless of whether his images spend their days on his mom’s fridge or on a customer’s walls, Aidan hopes they draw the viewer to question how we ought to live as modern people.
